Who can take part in the Schlagwerk Golden Cajon Award?

The Golden Cajon Award is open to everyone, from beginners to professionals. You must be at least 18 years old and must not currently have an endorsement from or other AR (artist relation) style of association with another cajon manufacturer. More information can be found in the Conditions of Participation.

Can I take part from any country?

Yes, of course. It doesn’t matter what country you are in. The Colden Cajon Award is international: anyone can take part and everyone is in with a chance of winning one of the many prizes.

Can I submit more than one video?

Unfortunately not. Each cajon player may only take part in the Golden Cajon Award 2017 with one cajon performance or video.

How do I take part?

You can take part in the Golden Cajon Award by uploading a video of your performance on this platform before the submission deadline on 28/05/2017. Once it has been reviewed by Schlagwerk, the video will be released and you will be automatically entered into the competition for the Golden Cajon Award. This means that your video will be part of the public vote and considered for one of the special prizes by our jury.

Are the videos only allowed to show Schlagwerk instruments?

You can, of course, use any acoustic or digital instruments for your video. The most important thing is for it to be all about the cajon. There doesn’t necessarily have to be a Schlagwerk instrument in view in the video. All videos will have an equal chance, regardless of the instruments used.

When can I upload my video and how long do I have?

The upload phase officially begins at 00:01 CET (UTC+1) on 19/04/2017 and ends at 23:59 CET (UTC+1) on 28/05/2017. .

How will the winners be chosen?

Audience award: 1st place and places 2 to 10 in the audience award will be chosen by means of a vote. Votes will be counted at the end of the voting phase. Special prizes: The jury will view all videos during the voting phase and come to an agreement on the winners of the special prizes.

When will the winners have been chosen?

We will know the winners at the end of the voting phase. All prize-winners will be published on the Golden Cajon Award website on 19/06/2017.

What will happen to my video during and after the Golden Award 2017?

Once you have uploaded your video, and if your performance complies with the rules and conditions of participation, your video will be published on our YouTube channel. We will use YouTube as the video platform for the Golden Cajon Award 2017, and your video will remain published on our YouTube channel after the end of the contest. Your performance will also be accessible on the Golden Cajon Award website for a certain period of time.

Can I enter with my band or in a group?

You can also take part in the Golden Cajon Award as a group or band. One of the special prizes is even awarded for the best band performance.

Can I take part anonymously or under a pseudonym?

In order to comply with the conditions of participation for the Golden Cajon Award, you must supply your proper name. You can, however, give a stage name (or band name) in any text in the video.

Why do I have to provide my email address for the online vote? Will I start to receive advertising from Schlagwerk?

No, we will not use your email address for advertising. Entering your email address simply serves to authenticate your vote. The data will be deleted once the Golden Cajon Award has ended.
